The Pajero is back: what the 2027 Mitsubishi Pajero means for Qatar buyers

Mitsubishi's seventh-generation Pajero returns as a ladder-frame seven-seater with Super Select 4WD-II; Qatar arrival is expected in 2027, pricing not yet confirmed.

Mitsubishi has revealed a new, seventh-generation Pajero, and the name that once ruled Qatar's desert tracks is on its way back to the region. There is no official Qatar launch date yet; based on Mitsubishi's global rollout the SUV is expected to reach Qatar and other GCC markets during 2027. The new Pajero is 4,920 mm long with seven seats and keeps the things that made the old one credible off-road: a ladder-frame chassis, the Super Select 4WD-II system and seven drive modes, including dedicated Sand and Rock settings. The engine shown at launch is a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel producing 480 Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic. Mitsubishi has not said whether that unit, or a petrol alternative, will be offered in the Gulf, where the outgoing Pajero was sold with a 3.0-litre V6. Inside there are ventilated seats, three-zone climate control, large digital displays and, on higher grades, a 12-speaker Yamaha sound system. Driver assistance comes from Mitsubishi's MI-PILOT package with adaptive cruise control and a 3D Multi Around Monitor built from four cameras. Qatar pricing is unconfirmed. Early estimates put higher-specification models at around QR 220,000, which would place the car between the Montero Sport and the Land Cruiser Prado in the local market.
